Why Don’t I Get As Stressed As Others At Work?

I work in a primary school, which is dedicated to being the ‘best’! Which it is. However, when new intitiative or ideas are introduced by staff or management, other people panic and discuss it constantly.
Me however, I tend to just ‘get on with it’, and not see it as a big deal, and still get it done or taught.
Is it natural to be so laid back about things, such as important? I feel I am a good teacher and enjoy it loads!
I am someone who just does not make a big deal – even at home!

You sound confident in your job and you obviously enjoy it. Those two qualities combined make you less stressed. You are likely quite confident as a person in general, and you don’t sweat because you know you can handle anything that is thrown your way.
The other thing you may be good at is adaptation / change. Some people see improvements and directives as changes to their pattern. Often this will stress people out and they flap.
Similar to you I deal with shifting patterns very well as I can adapt to almost any circumstance with ease.
Be thankful your job doesn’t stress you out, so many people are stressed by their work. I’m one of the few who enjoys my work too!

You sound better adjusted than the others.
Generally people have different tolerance levels to stress.
Your attitude is great, come and teach at our schools – please.

  • You sound like me. I think one reason is because you believe in yourself..what you are doing and love your job. I’m not saying we simply go with the flow, We strive for improvement to make things right.
