Why Do People Want To Be In Management For?

more pressure/stress, hence the reason i neva wanted to becom a manager at anything, id rather get less money and be happy, then get a little more pay and be unhappy.. then l8r on in life yr spouse mite leave u coz of yr neglect, likewise wif yr kids due to yr workload. Your goin to bring your work/problems home. People will only like you coz yr a manager, they wont like u for you, then psycolocially yr goin to think and ask yrself ‘do they really like me for me or my wallet’. Then why do they become managers for?

Some do it for the higher salary. They would rather be rich than happy. Or they think that they can’t be happy UNLESS they are rich.
Some do it because they have a natural aptitude and talent for managing people.
Some do it because they succumb to the pressure of their families and society to climb the career ladder.
Some do it for the prestige because their egos need it.
Some think it looks easy and then get into it and find out that it is a lot more difficult than it appears.
Just because it isn’t for you doesn’t mean it isn’t for everybody.

So you may take the lessons you learn in your work environment and apply them in your life and to better your employees because if your employees are good enough you don’t have to work all you have to do is watch

Because they are deranged perverts who get a thrill out of ordering other people around.

    More money
    More status
    More responsibility
Opportunity to dictate and tell people what to do…..
To boost your own ego by having underlings!!

Personally, I am just about to start a new job where I will be a first-line manager. Firstly, I REALLY need an income boost because I seriously have very little in life & I don’t mean material things. I need to provide for my kids which means a house and not my current bedsit. Secondly, and importantly, I feel I am ready for a new challenge. I much prefer being very busy at work, it improves my mind and I can think quicker. I also feel I have something (at last) to offer other people, to get things done and psychologically, I can handle it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t choose to have done this, it is a natural step for me in the line of work I am in. I do know that my kids will always come first is SOME respects. I won’t work weekends but I need cash to run them around and give them food and shelter and I also need to be happy in work. Maybe thats why it has taken me so long to progress…
