To Quit My Job Or Not.?

There is a lot of stress at my job. Management pushes more and more. In the past five years at least eighteen have quit that I can outright remember.
I have saved part of each paycheck for the future. It is getting to the point where I want to quit. If I cut back on some things that are not a necessity I could make it for the next six months.
With the way the job market is these days I might or might not find another job in that time.
Should I take that risk, save my mental health, and quit or should I continue to go to work each day and look for work on the side?

it’s not easy to find a new job at the moment. I think you should not quit your job until finding a new one.

You didn’t tell us WHAT they make you do. WHY it is so stressful.
Well, I would keep it. You need the money. Trust me, I only have a 2 day a week job and I WISH I could get a full time.
I’ve applied to like….40 jobs within two months and NEVER got a reply. Trust me, it’s too hard right now. KEEP YOUR JOB.

continue work. challenge yourself to stick with it and you will reap benefits

  • I dunno what im talking about!:)

I would negotiate with your employer to see if you can go part-time for a few months. Never quit if you don’t have a back up plan because the stress of unemployment could be worse.
Look regularly for jobs NOW, and think outside the box in terms of where and what you could do.
Also, work is such a big part of your life, but it doesn’t have to be.
    Im taking up meditation (:
Concentrate on your family, friends etc. Also, if you meet the demands, then there is no need to be AS stressed. Clearly the management is aware of their style given how many people have quit, but thats clearly just the nature of the job. I’m sure you could hack it, not EVERYONE quits, so some people can handle the stress and the demands.
If you still think you can’t, even with a different thought approach, go part-time for a bit. Also if it’s really bad, read up on your rights and contract; employers have a responsibility to not mis-treat their employees.

I feel you should take the approach where you can look for work on the side. Having said that see whether the management push is the short term or temporary issue due to the economic recession by talking to the veterans in your company and if possible talk to people from other companies in the same field to see if its there too.. If it is a temporary issue there is no point of giving up this job. It is going to be the same where ever you go. :> Make your decision on short term pain long term success.
Do courses like Art of Living to stay focused and shed off your stress. Good Luck :>
