29 y/o…Just quit my job of over 10 years. Just walked out and never went back. It was literally like the movie “Office Space” except that it was retail. I’ve always been the model employee other than the past year or so. I did everything I could short of breaking the law to at least get reprimanded, but to no avail. I was insubordinate, late, even didn’t show up a few times, and I was a total ****** to the whole management staff. No one ever said a word to me. Even got a awesome annual eval. WTF? This job was literally making me feel old at 29, and the pay definitely wasn’t worth the stress. The stress all caused by other people being lazy and not doing their jobs correctly I might add. So I quit, and in the fall I plan on going back to school after more than 10 years. I feel a little apprehension at the thought of going back to school, but at the same time I feel completely liberated. Am I crazy?

A few years back I worked at a company called the Southern California Organ Procurement Center, which handled organ donation for the L.A. area. A few months after I started they changed their name to “OneLegacy” with the idea that “we all have one life, in which to give one gift, and leave one legacy”. Being a lifelong believer in reincarnation, I found this whole one-one-one deal a little offensive. I shared my feelings with senior management and asked them to change the name but they refused. Eventually I had a breakdown over the issue and was terminated for not showing up. So my question is, given the significant mental stress I incurred over the issue and the morality of earning a living at a place that insulted my most cherished spiritual beliefs, would there be any kind of a merit for a wrongful termination, civil rights violent, mental anguish, etc?

Nope.
Hypnosis is an pretty much a sham. If you still belive in it- do not pay anyone to hypnotise you- it’s expensive and you might not get what you want.
Nobody has ever lost weight, stopped smoking or changed their life solely because of hypnosis- they change because something inside them clicks and they are ready to do those things.

I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with my third child (a girl…I have a 3 year old boy and a 1 year old boy, also). Well my husband has been unemployed since September of 2009 and hasn’t tried to get another job. I am currently a teacher in MS, so you KNOW I don’t make enough money to take care of a family of 4 effectively. We just bought a house and have bills on top of bills. Yet he refuses to get a job…he says that he is saving me money on daycare by staying home and taking care of the kids. He is satisfied with the unemployment check that he gets every month.
As of December 14, 2009, I am on bedrest now due to complications. Not to mention undue stress and fatigue from continuing to take care of the family. It was like I was working two jobs when I was teaching. Now I feel like I still have a full time job because when my husband gets mad he will refuse to help out around the house with the kids or things that need to be done.
He is verbally abusive and refuses to listen to me when I complain. He always interrupts my sentences and tries (and succeeds) to confuse me when we argue. In the past he has been physically abusive but he went to anger management to get help with that…yet I feel like he still needs to be there because even though he isn’t hitting me his words and lack of “husband” help hurt just as bad.
How do I deal with this situation. The baby will be here any minute now…plus I just bought this house and don’t want to lose it.

Some background information.
My sister is suffering depression which she REFUSES to seek help for in any way, is VERY stressed, & has anger management issues.
She is 36 and has 2 children aged 4 & 2.5.
She is single.
She NEVER takes the kid’s out. Instead prefering to sit at home on the internet buying on e-bay.
The TV is the babysitter.
The kid’s are so bored. They love it when my sister and I would take them to the beach etc. They were well behaved as they had something to do. When their bored they of course play up. This angers my sister.
She looses her temper VERY easily with the kid’s, especially the 4 year old over stupid little things such as playing with a pencil while eating. Dropping food on the floor while eating. Being too loud. pulling leaves off a tree etc.
When she looses her temper, she screams LOUDLY so neighbours can hear. She also threatens them with “Leave that alone or I’ll chop your hand off!” etc to touching things. Or “The spiders will bit you and you’ll die if you go in there.”
She also hit’s. But NOT SMACKING. Actual hitting.
Just the other day she rung me at night & asked me to come over? Why? Because she had blackened the 4 year old’s eye & she had a fat nose!!! What happened? She had broken her glasses again. So my sister sent her to her room. But she was so angry she went into the room & threw the glasses at the wall very close to her head. She stated she wanted to scare the sh*t out of her, but the glasses hit her in the nose instead.
She had kinder the next morning & she was in a panic.
when she brought her daughter around, it looked as if her nose was broken & she had a massive black eye.
But really worried me was that she then said to her daughter “Now tell Aunty W what we practiced (for kinder).”"Eliza threw a toy at me!” She was coaching her 4 year old to lie to cover her butt plus then placing the blame on her 2.5 year old!!
Would you ring DHS?
I am getting very worried.

My family drives me crazy sometimes. I think this time I’m going to more out. I’m grown any. When there’s a problem, they attack me with everything I’m doing wrong and I just get so angry. They never listen to anything I tell them that they are doing wrong and expect me to listen to them. When, I try to talk to them later about an argument, they think I am trying to start it up again and cut me off when I am only trying to work things out so the same stuff doesn’t happen. It’s like they always think I’m the problem, but actually I think they are because they usually are the ones that are attacking me first. They gang up on me. I don’t know what’s going on and I am going to stress management courses soon.
