My Boss Asked Me To Write How Long It Takes Me To Do My Job Task Every Day For A Month. Is This Normal?

She sent the request via e-mail like she didn’t want to talk to me face to face. I only work on company work all day except for lunch and bathroom breaks and I multitask most of the time. I don’t make personal phone calls or play on the internet like some of my colleagues. In fact, I only talk to my co-workers when they engage me in conversation, and then I try to cut it short so I can get back to my job. I feel I get quite a bit accomplished considering all the different job task I have to do and the complexity. But it seems like management feels like I’m not doing enough. It’s stressing me out!
My boss use to do most of these task and she tells me it should only take me so long to do this, or so long to do that, but the work load has tripled since she did it – and she knows it. She called herself showing me how the work flow should be on one of my job task and she missed something – her boss found it.
I did one of her job task while she was out on vacation and her boss said I did a good job. When she came back, she gave me the third degree because I didn’t run some reports after the job was finished that she never showed me how to do.
I can’t afford to quit this job and I don’t know what to do. Any serious insight out there?

Do You Think This Will Piss My District Manager Off?

ok, let me first explain the situation… I work for RadioShack and have been loyal to them for over 2 years. 3 days ago a customer came in to buy a cell phone and we didn’t have the one he wanted. We had one like it but it wasn’t free like the other. The system allows us to “price match” on phones up to $71.00 I lowered the price by $50.00. Now, if you aren’t familiar with these high pressured companies everything revolves around selling wireless phones and expensive electronics. Anyway, since I “price matched” the phone’s price he ended up buying an $800.00 computer from me also. Anyway, long story short. The other store in town found out about my price change and tattled on me to the District manager. He in turn, Blew it out of proportion by contacting our loss and prevention manager and “writing me up” for it (I have NEVER been written up) Anyway, i’m going to quit… and thought I would send him a “nice” letter… this is what it says…
To whom it may concern,
To start off I must say that I have been very loyal to this company for over 2 years. I have never betrayed RadioShack or its management. I have always been on time and called in sick once. On multiple occasions I have come into work on my day off or worked weeks straight. I have given the company no reason to think bad about my performance and have always excelled at work. I bend over backwards for the company’s needs and have done things that I was not required to do.
I must also say, when I first started with RadioShack my father was diagnosed with cancer. In July of 2007 he was diagnosed as terminal and was given 8 months to live. Regretfully, I kept my job at RadioShack because I believed it would benefit the company if I stayed. I spent every moment outside of work and school with my father as I was very close to him (which amounted to about 2 hours a day) and I knew I didn’t have long with him in my life. Within those 8 months I got to spend two days with him for the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas.) It would have been very easy for me to quit my job with RadioShack and again, regretfully, I kept my job at RadioShack because I believed the company would benefit if I stayed. My father passed away in March of 2008. Being the dedicated employee I am, I only took 2 weeks off of work for the grieving of a man that gave me 20 wonderful years of his life. I also have to add, that I have turned down several higher paying jobs because I enjoyed my job at RadioShack. Now, if that doesn’t tell you that I’m a dedicated employee to RadioShack, I don’t know what is.
Let me leave you with a few thoughts and comments…
There have been an abundance of horrible District managers at RadioShack. I have only seen ONE excellent DM within the 2+ years I have been with RadioShack. And YOU sir, are NOT one of them. I think you are one of the most pompous assholes I have ever met. I believe you have absolutely horrible management skills; let alone district management skills. You don’t even know what in the hell you’re doing with the district. You are a poor leader who just got the DM position because they fired the previous DM, and needed a “filler.” You’ll probably be fired right along with the others. You put nothing but stress on the managers and employees with NO sense of gratitude.
You make a big deal about price changing a wireless phone by $50.00 when the company probably makes more than twice that for that sale. Also, if I’m not getting in trouble for that I’m getting in trouble for NOT selling phones… If you haven’t noticed!!! The economy SUCKS! Your salary may not change because of the economy, but my pay does. Just because I changed the price of the phone I also got a $750.00 computer sale out of it. Now, with all that said…
Just in case you are wondering… I QUIT!!! **** YOU AND **** THIS COMPANY. I don’t get paid enough to deal with your BullShit!!!

My Ex Took My 12 Yr. Old To Another State. I Had To Quit My Job And Move Also. Will This Look Good In Court?

He is trying to make me look unfit because I left him for another man. He says that I can’t have any custody if I marry this other man. He changed the locks on the doors when I tried to take my daughter with me at the time of our breakup. As long as I am not with another man, I can see my daughter. Is this a control tactic? He says he will dub me unfit if I push him for custody or for visitation while the boyfriend is around. He says he will bring up my depression medicine, Zoloft. I went to an outpatient hospital for 3 months for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 2 yrs. ago. He took me there after I asked for help. I had started drinking secretly and crying alot and taking sleeping pills at night. But I got help and straightened up…..this was 2 yrs. out of our 23 yr. marriage. So am I unfit in a judges eyes? And he is not perfect, he had to go to anger management therapy–compliments of his job/boss. He also found a viagra bottle in my purse and kept it.

College Future…can I Still Do This?

So here is the deal. I am a sophomore at college, I am an RA and I did decent in my Freshman year (3.34 GPA)
I took only the minimum credits to be considered a full-time all Freshman year, and the same is true for this semester.
I finally feel like I know what I want to do for a major, which is International business. I am taking just 2 required classes and 1 Spanish class. I am taking the next Spanish class next Semester because I want to Study abroad in Spain for my Fall semester of Junior year. I am feeling like I am not doing very well in classes. I have become very unmotivated, lazy, and have horrible time management for the time being. Being an RA is a lot of stress sometimes, but mostly comes at the end of the month. I have choir, which is an hour and 15 minute commitment a day. I have an amazing relationship with a girl, but admittedly I spend time over with her instead of doing homework. On top of that all, I was really sick (still am to some degree) at the beginning of the Semester and Have fallen behind in classes. So my grade out look? B or higher in Math, C or Higher in Religion, and a D or Higher in Spanish (more likely a C). I plan to take 2 Summer courses (1 math 1Econ) to catch up in my course credit need and I know I can still graduate on time, but My questions remain
1. Can I still do this? Am I just being stupid and worrying about nothing?
2. What should I do to fix this Semester? Is this Semester going to set me back alot?

Could This Be Considered Harassment?

I have a coworker who I used to be on good terms with, until yesterday when her husband (also a coworker) was fired for reasons of productivity and disrespect towards management. This morning at about 6:30 when she knew I’d be sleeping (I work swing shift, and I get off at 1 am) she sent me a slew of text messages all including obscenities that insinuated that I was lazy and no good at my job, and those who actually work are fired (such as her husband who had been in trouble for productivity several times) and those who are lazy and talk on their phones while at work (which she intended towards me and a couple other coworkers) are free to keep their jobs… She has already (just since the incident, less than 24 hours ago) called the management at work trying to get us in trouble for things, and now she has resorted to making threatening and offensive comments towards those of us who still have our jobs.
I made a simple statement towards her that I would be saving the messages and showing them to management because of harassment. She told me that it’s not harassment because she’s off the clock, and then a few hours later I wake up to a text message stating “Just as an fyi it’s not harassment if you freely give out a number.”
Is she correct, would going to management over this be a pointless endeavor, or is it indeed harassment what she is doing to me and my fellow coworkers? It is causing even more stress in an already stressful workplace, and caused me to lose sleep over it. I just would like to know if there is actually anything I can do about it or if I simply have to put up with this new onslaught.

Would This Scare Anyone? Am I Crazy For Doing This?

29 y/o…Just quit my job of over 10 years. Just walked out and never went back. It was literally like the movie “Office Space” except that it was retail. I’ve always been the model employee other than the past year or so. I did everything I could short of breaking the law to at least get reprimanded, but to no avail. I was insubordinate, late, even didn’t show up a few times, and I was a total ****** to the whole management staff. No one ever said a word to me. Even got a awesome annual eval. WTF? This job was literally making me feel old at 29, and the pay definitely wasn’t worth the stress. The stress all caused by other people being lazy and not doing their jobs correctly I might add. So I quit, and in the fall I plan on going back to school after more than 10 years. I feel a little apprehension at the thought of going back to school, but at the same time I feel completely liberated. Am I crazy?

Would This Lawsuit Have Merit?

A few years back I worked at a company called the Southern California Organ Procurement Center, which handled organ donation for the L.A. area. A few months after I started they changed their name to “OneLegacy” with the idea that “we all have one life, in which to give one gift, and leave one legacy”. Being a lifelong believer in reincarnation, I found this whole one-one-one deal a little offensive. I shared my feelings with senior management and asked them to change the name but they refused. Eventually I had a breakdown over the issue and was terminated for not showing up. So my question is, given the significant mental stress I incurred over the issue and the morality of earning a living at a place that insulted my most cherished spiritual beliefs, would there be any kind of a merit for a wrongful termination, civil rights violent, mental anguish, etc?

Problems At Work Stressing Me Out? Should I Mention This To My Doctor?

My last shift will be February 10th before I go on Mat leave. Not much longer, thank goodness. We have recently been having problems at work with someone stealing money from my department and it is starting to stress me out because now no one can be trusted and everyone is pointing a finger. Luckily they have proof that it wasn’t me, and also that it wasn’t my trainee and one other co worker is in the clear.(According to management, it appears as someone is trying to set someone else up to be fired) I have been there for 3 years, and never gone through this.
I am wondering if the added stress is something I should mention to my doctor at my appointment on Tuesday. It’s not life threatening I’m sure, and I know I can last until the 10th…but would you mention it to see what the DR says anyway?
