My Pony Is Likely To Get Laminitus, please Help Me Chose Correct Grass Reduction Method…?

Posted by admin | Stress Relief | Friday 12 June 2009 6:02 pm

i have 2 ponies and a large horse on about 5.5 acres,i am new to keeping horses on my own land and have never had laminitic ponies before.
my large horse is extremely bonded with one of the ponies and frets terribly if i take her out of sight or even if she is merely seperated by an electric fence.
i have a 36 inch shetland i took on a few months ago,bit of a rescue case so i don’t know much of her history, she has a large floppy crest which i have noticed is getting harder recently.i am worried she is showing signs of laminitus.
i really need advise on what to do for the best, should i muzzle the ponies in the day and take them off at night?should i try and seperate the ponies in the day and put them in a starvation paddock(this would stress my horse out big style)and let them graze at night?should i muzzle the ponies 24/7 and leave them out? i feel so cruel and want to make the right decision, can anyone help, ideally i need to keep all 3 together as the big lad will go loopy if his girls are not at his beck and call!!
also, the one pony has never had laminitus but does have a hard crest, she has had this since i purchased her a year ago,is this normal or is she permanently on the brink of coming down with laminitus, she is always a bit overweight, however she stays pretty much the same weight all year round.
any advise would be greatly appreciated,i keep my horses at home and don’t have a network of people to turn to for help.

How Big Is Too Big? (boob Reduction?)?

Posted by admin | Stress Relief | Friday 12 June 2009 4:51 pm

I’m a 21 year old runner. Recently I was diagnosed with a stress fracture and had to discontinue running for 8 weeks. Now I’ve been doing push-ups and upper body exercises. I swear my boobs got even bigger! They no longer fit into my 34D bras. I can’t find 34DD in any of the stores I shop at. I did the measurements and around my ribs it’s 29inches and around my bust it’s 39inches. Not to give too much detail, but I’m sick of having to adjust myself to keep myself in my bras. I’m about to put on 2 sports bras and duct tape them down. This is becoming rediculous. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Everyone responds to stress differently. How do you usually react to increased levels of stress? Is your method of coping healthy or unhealthy? How could you improve your ability to cope?

Why Do I Never Hear Anyone Discuss Reduction Of Human Reproduction Rates?

Posted by admin | Stress Relief | Thursday 11 June 2009 3:17 am

Seems to me that no one from the most hard core right wing, supply sider to the greenest, left wing, eco nut ever mentions the possibility of encouraging reproductive responsibility. I hear allot about the stresses the human population puts on the ecosystem, resources, and itself. I hear all kinds of good and not so good ideas for alleviating these stresses through new technologies. How hard is it to say, “Maybe we shouldn’t be having more than one or two babies per couple.”? Imho, that would do allot, especially long term, to reduce pretty much every kind of human and environmental stress.

If epinephrine production produces the “fight or flight” response is there any natural or atificial way of reducing it. In turn reducing stress and anxiety.

Whats Your Thoughts On Harm Reduction?

Posted by admin | Stress Relief | Saturday 6 June 2009 10:46 pm

Prohibition does not prevent cannabis use by children or the mentally ill, the vulnerable populations whom we supposedly want to protect. Instead, cannabis prohibition makes it more difficult for parents, patients, society, doctors and law enforcement to control cannabis use.
The Drug War makes honest education about cannabis impossible, and leaves cannabis users marginalized in ways that make their lives more stressful.
This stress is unhealthy for everyone, but it is certainly most damaging to people with schizophrenia.
Cannabis prohibition is not merely a failure; it is a counterproductive fraud that is harming those whom we claim we want to protect.
There are currently more teens in treatment centers for marijuana in comparison to those admitted for alcohol.
Only an idiot would have to ask why alcohol is not the no#1 problem
after all alcohol is perfectly legal ( If you are 21.)
That is due to responsible people handling alcohol by way of the carding and id system.
Contraband markets make no age disgression.
Since the crackdown on tobacco there are 75% fewer teens trying or using tobacco.
However when it comes to cannabis and other illicit substances it’s a whole
other ball game.
Control, regulation and better education work prohibition, dose not.
Or as John Walters of the ondcp (Office for national drug control policy) calls it “ a war on drugs” (Sorry John but it’s true look at the Netherlands)
America loves a war even if it is on it’s own people.
One of several reason they don’t legalize drugs is not because of the harm of drugs,
But people would lose more money in the long run.
Some of the people behind the support of this irrational so called war are
The tobacco industry,
the alcohol and distilled spirit industry ( people simply don’t drink as much, or decide not to drink at all with cannabis meaning a decline in there sales.
The pharmaceutical corporations can not make money on whole or raw cannabis, but they can charge an arm and a leg for there synthetic Marinol (dronabinol) CIII.
The textile and paper industry would lose out from hemp production, since hemp dose not need to go through all the various processes that ordinary tree products would. Also it’s possible to get two harvest in one season.
However people don’t know the difference between industrial hemp and smokeable cannabis, yet they are able to distinguish between the two in other country’s like Germany, the UK , Netherlands and even Canada, but our `DEA agents are so dumb they cant tell the difference between a stalk and a bush.
Also people who have any knowledge of growing high quality cannabis will tell you that male plants should never be grown next to your high grade female plants,
(unless of course you want to pollinate for future seed production).
When it comes to farming hemp the males are left in tact to pollinate the females and produce as much seed as possible.
This would mean a seedy mess for the pot smoker to clean up and produce undesirable future generations of smokeable cannabis.
If anything, Hemp farming would be anti marijuana and would harm any outdoor pot farming within a one mile radius of any hemp farm.
The petroleum industry would also be affected, since almost everything that can be made from petroleum can be synthesized from hemp oil, everything from bio fuel to even plastics. If North America would use a third of it’s land for hemp production we could create enough bio fuel to supply an area the size of Canada.
Now also for a moment consider how many people are incarcerated over just cannabis who are currently in the prisons and jails.
If cannabis were legalized and all inmates serving time for cannabis were freed there would be an over abundance of empty cells, and millions of guards in this country would be no longer needed.
The prison building industry would almost be obsolete (, and if all drugs were legalized that would mean even more empty cells).
So the prison system must have some means of gaining more inmates.
Not to mention other areas such as treatment centers, probation. Etc.
or HIDTA high intensity drug traffic areas where money is fed in to law enforcement,
(they would miss there green $$$)
Drugs , not even alcohol are the cause of the fundamental ills of society, rather than checking people for the presence of drugs, they should first test people for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power.

Will Smoking Marijuana Nightly Interfere With A Breast Reduction Surgery Or Recovery? I Don’t Smoke Ciggaretes

Posted by admin | Stress Relief | Saturday 6 June 2009 4:19 pm

I am 38 yrs old, and having the surgery done in 1 month and they told me no smoking for 2 weeks b4 or after the procedure. I don’t touch ciggarettes, yuch, but I enjoy my nightly marijuana smoke. It relieves my stress and helps me sleep. Without it, I will probably get very nervous about the surgery, and I know it would help relieve my pain afterwards. But I don’t want to complicate the surgery. I read that it is the nicotine that causes the problem with smoking, so I should be fine, right?

Questions About Breast Reduction?

Posted by admin | Stress Relief | Saturday 6 June 2009 10:32 am

I’ve been thinking about getting breast reduction for a long time and I think I’m going to go for it. I have a lot of questions, though, so any constructive input would be wonderful! Thanks :]
Here’s some facts about me:
My bra size is 36DD (or a little bigger than DD)
I am otherwise in healthy condition
I’m turning 19 in May
I would have the surgery sometime this summer
It is covered by my insurance
I want to have it done because it would significantly improve my quality of life. I would be able to run/jog without pain, wear normal clothes & swimsuits, it would put less stress on my shoulders and back, and I would feel much less self conscious.
My questions are:
Are you fully unconscious for the procedure?
How much pain is there afterward and for how long?
How bad is the scarring?
How long does it take to heal?
What is the healing process like?
If I wanted to have kids (say in 6 years or so) how would that be affected?
Do you think that given my situation it is a good idea?
Thanks so much!
