I am an Assistant Director for a school in Dallas. Ever since I have started there, there has been a lack of respect from a few specific staff members. They will tell me “no”, refuse to do their job, refuse to do what I need them to do, stomp off, yell, and throw items. I have always approached each new day with a positive attitude and hopes of a better day. I constantly provide praises to staff and provide them with great incentives for a job well done. I am understanding to every situation and have great relationships with 98% of people there. (this is excluding the few that I am writing this about)
I have went to my supervisors and expressed that I feel defeated and I needed their support in the matter. Every time I do not receive anything except a nod and then they take the conversation to a different topic and then nothing ever happens. It has gotten so bad that my kindergarten class was without a teacher because the staff member told me, “I will walk out this door if you make me go in their, I hate that class”. When I told her she had no option because she is a sub and there was not anyone else to go in, she still refused.
I would of went in the room myself, however I had no coverage at the front office do to lack of staffing. Almost once a day, the two staff members will be on Craig’s List searching for jobs and making comments that they hate where they work and they need to find something else-I have mentioned this to my boss and got nothing. It is filling up the work environment with negativity and drama.
Today-what really prompted me to write this is when I had a situation occur again. I asked the Office Assistant to do an easy and simple task-she got so mad she stood up threw her paperwork across the room pushed her chair into my legs and stormed off. I immediately called my Supervisor and told them they needed to talk to her right then and explained what happened. Well, they talked to her and she came back very happy saying, “Now I don’t have to do anything I don’t want to do!”. My Supervisor later told me that he met with her and she is overloaded with work and just very stressed out!!!! I told him I do not believe she should be getting away with her behavior. He disregarded my statement and said that from now on when she has work to make sure she does not need any help and to avoid asking anything of her if she seems stressed. OH MY GOSH…. Then, him and my other boss were coddling her all day asking what she needed from them.
I feel like I have no support in the situation and I feel defeated. I have work up to my eyeballs but I don’t tell my boss “no” and throw items. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I work for a long term managed care provider. We always had a 1800 line , where the member’s could call if they had an emergency or if they could not get in touch with the people they usually speak to. We recently started this new “call center” were all of the calls are logged, if they are answered, not answered. etc . The problem is that now they are starting to beat us down because of this new system. For example if we put the phone on ” not ready ” they want to know why we stepped away from our desk , even if its to go to the bathroom. Even if we clock in to work on time , if we don’t log in on the phone its like we came in late. If our regular line rings , and the call que rings they want us to drop our regular line and answer the que. Many people are starting to say that they are micromanaging us. Is this true. We are all in 1199 union , and we would like to bring this up to the delegate , because we are now becoming stressed with all of these rules? what do u think ?

I have a 12 year old son in Secondary school on a part time basis, he has been fully statemented since the age of 6 with 32 hours one to one support. He has been diagnosed as having ADD with Aspergers Syndrome. We are trying to get him some support from the Autism Outreach service but the LEA say his Aspergers is not severe enough to warrant their help. His Consultant Psychiatrist has written to them to suggest that his Statement is amended but they are being very difficult and lax. In the meantime, my son’s difficulties are not being addressed so he is only in school 3 mornings a week. I am now unable to work because of this and feel very very isolated and stressed. The worst thing is that my son does not even understand that his behaviour is “odd” and because we or the school have no access to Autism Outreach, no one can help him. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Its only a week left to my final year exams. Which are REALLY important. And i have to do superbly well in them.
I did pretty well for my mid terms(top 60 out of 800) and so i slacked off a bit. Which i SHOULD NOT have done. And these finals are even more important!
So what can I do to manage my time better? Im supersupersuper stressed so i cant concentrate. Its a new struggle for me everyday. I’ve been living on coffee all these days and i feel like its taking a toll on my body. I keep crashing every 2-3 days too! Im so scared. I’ve only completed half my math and chemistry syllubus. And i havent done econs and i’ve barely started biology.
Everyones got great expectations out of me cause i did really well in our national exams last year, scoring the best possible. But i dont know why. This time its so difficult.
I NEED MAJOR HELP PLEASE! and some motivational stories would help too.

Basically I have a temper, and it can get way out of control. I’ve never hurt anybody in a lasting way, but I kick and hit and scream and cry when I lose control. I’m 16 now, and my parents don’t believe it’s safe for me to drive because of my temper.
To explain a little bit more:
My temper is genetic. It honestly is, I’m Irish and my dad has a temper like me, and my grandmother does too, though they have obviously learned how to control it. It’s definitely not a learned thing because my dad rarely loses his temper (and when he does, he does *not* hit and kick, he just yells a lot. And by rarely I mean he loses it maybe twice a year.)
I find that I can go for months without losing my temper at anyone, but if I get stressed or sick or overwhelmed and then someone (usually one of my siblings) does something big to annoy me, or if the result is that it annoys me I will lose my temper, and then for a few months after that it’s out of control and I’ll lose it at really little things (the worst so far has been when my sister took the remote away from me and I lost it at her). Eventually the cycle will slow down, I’ll keep my temper in check for months again, and then it starts all over.
I know that seeing a counsellor would help, or going to a group thing but I’m dead set against both of those. I’d really like some sort of strategy to keep things from annoying me, when they do annoy me to not lose my temper, and when I lose my temper to get control of it quickly.
Right now, I’ve tried walking away. I write in a journal. I’ve tried going for a run, I’ve tried closing my eyes and ignoring whatever is bugging me. I’d like to try listening to music but the situation doesn’t always allow it and I don’t always have my iPod with me. Counting to 10 doesn’t work either because normally by the time I realise that I’m completely overreacting and it’s not a big deal, I’m already overreacting! I just don’t know what to do, and I could really use some help. Please, has anyone dealt with this before or helped someone get through it?
Thanks,
Meg

Basically, here is my thing:
I treat him really good, i concern myself with his feelings and in all honesty, most guys would kill to have a gf as chill as I am, while still being affectionate and caring.
It seems that he stresses on EVERYTHING. He can be perfectly happy, and the smallest things piss him off. They have nothing to do with me, but it is depressing always being around such negativity.
He spent a little over 3 and a 1/2 years in prison, and got realeased a little over a year ago. He is really a good guy. Hes just is so bitter about life and stuff. I just wanted to know if anyone out there has some productive advise. I want to be with him, but I don’t want to sacrifice my own happiness forever.
