Does Anyone Know Any Other Medicines For Tourette’s Syndrome?

Posted by admin | Stress Management | Sunday 14 February 2010 4:16 pm

I was only diagnosed 10 years ago and am 24 (well almost) now. I have always taken Chlonadine (not sure on correct spelling) I have not taken it for almost 3 years as i had The Tourette’s under control until recently a few Tics have re-occurred. Mainly some pretty violent Head Shaking which is causing me major headaches. The side affects to Chlonadine is Restless nights and drowsiness during the day which is one of the reasons i stopped, plus gaining control.
I was wondering if there any other medicines that have been tried a tested and been ssuccessful I have done some research, but not got anything ccom firmingit. I know if i just go to my doctor they will just put me on the the same stuff and write the prescription and not care in the world as they normally do for the whole 2 minutes i would be there. I want to be able to go to my doctor with some alternatives so he can actually try and help me.
I’m just so ticked off because I thought i had beaten Tourette’s and out grown it as i have heard some people have done, I know it is stress that has caused it and i do have quite stress fullll job, but cant afford to quit it.
Any help will be very gratefulll.
Just so you know i only suffer from a mild form of Tourette’s,i dont randomly swear at people in the street or make racist comments just suffer from tics and occasional anger lashouts is brought on by stress and tourettes (so i been told, i think i just need anger management sometimes, but i’m no doctor)

Does Anyone Know The Name Of That Soft Mushy Plastic Used In Stress Relief Products ? And Where Can I Buy It?

Much of it is polyurethane foams.
Stress relief products are so inexpensive when purchased overseas that few are made in America today.

Do You Know The Old Saying? Keep Your Friends Close And Your Enemies Closer?

Posted by admin | Stress Management | Sunday 3 January 2010 4:18 am

Well, I do. Here are excerpts from article in ‘American Conservative Magazine” – Do you agree with the conclusions they have come to about Bush and the War in Iraq?
Granted, President Bush never passes up the chance to pose with the troops or express his warm regard for those who serve and sacrifice. But to judge by results rather than posturing, no commander in chief in American history has cared less about the overall health of America’s Armed Forces.
President Bush will hand over to his successor an Army and Marine Corps that are badly depleted and verging on exhaustion. The real surge is not the one that involves sending more U.S. troops to Baghdad. It is the tidal wave of unsustainable demands that are now engulfing America’s ground forces.
…..
The stress of repeated combat tours is sapping the Army’s lifeblood. Especially worrying is the accelerating exodus of experienced leaders. The service is currently short 3,000 commissioned officers. By next year, the number is projected to grow to 3,500. The Guard and reserves are in even worse shape.
…..
To sustain the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Pentagon has resorted to a variety of management techniques, all of which have the effect of increasing the strains on the force and watering down its quality.
…..
As the Army depletes its inventory of equipment—some $212 billion worth has been destroyed, damaged, or just plain worn out—the best of what’s left ends up in Iraq and Afghanistan.
…..
There’s also a second shell game. The Army is incrementally easing its recruiting standards, enlisting thousands of volunteers that the service would previously have classified as unfit.
…..
Perhaps most troubling is the increase in “moral waivers” issued to would-be recruits with criminal records, a history of drug use, and the like. Between 2005 and 2006, the number of waivers that the Army issued to convicted felons jumped by 30 percent.
…..
President Bush has nickeled and dimed the nation’s fighting forces to the verge of collapse. Even today he remains oblivious to the basic problem that his administration has confronted for the past four years—too much war and too few soldiers.
The president’s attitude seems to be: sure, the military is overstretched, but let’s see if we can stretch it just a little bit more. Perhaps he figures that when the rubber band breaks, dealing with the consequences will be someone else’s problem.

I Have Severe Anger Management Problems…can You Help Me, I Dont Know What To Do?

Posted by admin | Stress Management | Monday 23 November 2009 10:17 am

I posted this in Psychology last night and nobody responded.
I’m losing friends because of my Anger and people provoke me but dont realize it.
I bite my hand constantly
I swear the worst possible words publiclly (especially c-u-n-t)
I sometimes threaten people
I hit myself in the head
I scream
I often get very angry driving
Teachers have tried to get me to stop with everything but it never works. My friends say they cant take me seriously, and I say “Everyone gets angry. I get a little angrier than others but w/e I dont give a f-u-c-k.” But I know thats not true. I know its a real problem.
I think a lot of it traces back to a few things:
*Stress
*The Yankees
*People trying to get me angry
*Intensity
What can I do? Do you think my problems are bad?

I Think I Have Social Anxiety And I Want To Know How To Deal With It?

Posted by admin | Stress Management | Wednesday 4 November 2009 10:25 am

It seems like it started probably about 5 years ago, I’m 18 now so I was probably like 14. I have always been a shy, quiet person but have always managed to make friends and maintain relationships pretty effieciently. I still have this problem though- I feel immense pressure is social situations. I always feel like I’m being judged and the feeling is so overpowering that my face tenses up and my cheek starts shaking. It’s really embarrassing and I HATE IT so much. I really want to know how to change it. I have tried these stress management pills but they don’t work, for prom recently I was so nervous- I tried some vodka (not a lot) but it didn’t do anything for me. I have tried sleeping pills and I don’t like them because they make me so tired and I can’t focus. I have tried medicines like nyquil and that makes me a bit drowsy. I just want to know how to change this- it seems like I will never get over it! Please help! Any suggestions! Thanks

My Family/friends Thinks I Should Sue My Passed Employer For Wrongful Termination, I Don’t Know What To Do…?

Posted by admin | Stress Management | Saturday 17 October 2009 4:16 am

My supervisors were harassing and threaten me for several months that I was going to be fired if our office cancellation didn’t get better. As the Verifying Loan Officer this is not something listed as part of the positions duties. What is described is that it my responsibility to keep the Project Director informed of the cancellation that occur. After several meetings with my new supervisor regarding this subject, I told her that I was stressed and felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown being continuously threatened. I explained to her that I’d been doing my job for over 7 yrs. with great respect from my passed supervisors and my coworkers; I have received numerous awards over the years for my work as a VLO. I told her that this was the 1st time I was being told I was going to be fired for something I have no control over. The cancellation rate has been a problem for years because of the high pressured sales. The next day I received an email describing our meeting and she also listed in the email I told her I was going to have a nervous breakdown, which she ignores and continues on to give me a time frame of which I would be fired. A couple of weeks later I saw my doctor and he suggested I take some time off. I took 2 months off… in the last week of the 2 months I received a call from my HR dept. saying that they were expecting me to return to work the next day because their was a problem with the approval of my leave. I didn’t understand what they meant; I said that was fine I was scheduled to return in a couple of days, I explained that I was feeling better because I had been seeing a stress management counselor. I went to work the next day and there to meet me was my supervisor and the head of HR, they immediately informed me my position was no longer available for me and that there had been some changes in the management of the office. I told them I was aware of the management changes they were referring to because it had happened a few weeks before I took my leave. The Project Director was fired for the 10th time in the last 8 years. They said that upper management was making decisions to change the managers in the office. The only problem with this excuse was no other mangers were fired. The next day I found out what the problem was with the approval of my leave they said they hadn’t received all the paperwork from my doctor they said if I still sent it in they would review it for approval. One week later I received the letter of approval for the leave. I spoke again with the head of my HR dept. and I mentioned that at no time did anyone bother to explain what the problem was instead at the 1st chance they thought they had they slit my throat. Also when it was demanded I return to work at no point did anyone ask me for a Doctor’s note releasing me to return to work. Any feed back would be appreciated, I’ve been sittng on this for a little while not knowing what to do.

It is interesting to me, I noted it. But now I lost its URL!
