try this. When your cuz starts getting stressed have her sit down ( preferably in a quiet place, but that’s not always an option) tell her to take a deep breath to the count of 10 and breath out to the count of ten, in through the nose out through the mouth.
You could also teach her a tension stress relief.
have her lay down or sit with her feet flat on the floor. Then tell her to tighten only the mucsles in her feet. like pushing down with her feet hard. but not so hard it hurts… for the count of 10 then release.wait a few seconds in between…. Next have her tighten her calf muscles, same 10 seconds then realease. next thigh muscles, 10 seconds… release… now, butt muscles, you got it 10 seconds…… release…. now stomach……10 seconds, back, 10 seconds… chest, 10 seconds, each arm, 10 seconds, neck, 10 seconds and finally her face 10 seconds…. by now she should be relaxed enough to go to sleep… Hope this helps..

Run until the stress is gone or you’re to tired to run anymore.

tell her to watch a funny movie or go out for a long walk.

I heard popping those bubble wraps relieves stress. Also petting a cat I have heard reduces stress. Hot baths. Darkness in conjunction with quiet is very calming such as turning out all the light and having the TV on with the sound just loud enough to hear it and no outside noise. Or even just relaxing in a dark area by yourself with no noise and not pitch black so you don’t stumble but very dark. A soothing effect on the brain and body.

Maybe she should see a doctor for anxiety medication if it’s that bad. Otherwise tell her to listen to music or watch tv to get her mind off of what’s bothering her.

The best thing to do for teens dealing with stress related health probs…. is one…. have them practice taking deep breaths when they feel overwhelmed. My daughter used to basically have panic attacks, so bad, that the doctor thought it was her heart malfunctioning……..
-breathing deeply helps oxygen flow into the restricted blood vessels, which when taking deep breaths, the oxygen floods in, releasing relaxants into the system
    -exercise….. such as stretching exercises…..
    -listening to relaxing music
-taking a bubblebath with no interruptions…..
If she is at school……. tell her to ask for a pass to use the restroom…… when she is in there, splash some cool water on the face….. and then cup a handful of cool water, and tell her to hold it semi close to her mouth, close her eyes, concentrate on her breathing, and take deep breaths…….. the coolness will help relax her…….
