I am considering of quitting my job and move to another company and work with my x boss i liked working with.
Here’s the deal, I’ve been working for 1 1/2 years to my current job as a manager handling business processing for a Singaporean Insurance account. It is very intoxicating and it came to a point wherein I cannot come to work due to stress.
Lately, there has been a change with management and 2 people I now report to are very accommodating yet at times, talk at your back.
I bumped into my former boss with the previous company I’ve worked with, and he invited me to work for him. He is now a director of a research firm and he wants me to be his Operations Manager. Salary is a bit higher than my current and the pressure is not that much compared to my current work.
I passed all interviews and exams..even topped all of it. I have my last interview tomorrow afternoon. I am now having second thoughts. One is because it hurts to leave my work although I hated working with Singaporeans because they are so demanding unlike other nationalities.
If in case I will take this new job, I will be working hand in hand with British nationals.
Should I consider moving to this new work or should I stay considering I hate my clients yet I have good working relationship with my new superiors???
Please help. I have no one to turn to in terms of getting a realistic and sincere advice. Thanks in advance

It is really down to you what you feel you want to do and what you will be happier, but all i can say is be careful with what you do at the moment as you have been in your company over a year you have a lot more behind you to be able to keep your job as to if you went to work somewhere else it could be like last in 1st out or it might not work out then you could be out of a job. Hope this helped. Hope the choice you make is the right one.
Being as that you don’t work at any 10 dollar an hour job and probably are dependent upon a certain salary I would say you should land the other job first then give your 2 weeks at your current job. All new jobs are understanding of this so you won’t piss them off.
the decision of whether you stay or go is solely on you…nobody can really answer that one but yourself.
If you don’t make that much money and aren’t too concerned than I always advocate quitting first simply because it allows you more flexibility in your schedule and you can put more effort on your job searches.
that’s what I always do and it usually works out better than trying to job shop with a job already.
If you know and trust the previous boss. Take the job. Just remember the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. If your Singaporeans employers are good to work for and work with you when you need to take extra time off or things like that, You may want to rethink your decision to leave. Ask yourself these questions.
1. What would happen if I changed jobs and my new boss got replaced?
2. Would the new company be as lenient as my old company?
3. Are the benefits as good or better?
4. Would I be as happy there as where I am now?
5. As Operations Manager you would have much more responsibility than you have as an account manager, is the pay twice as much?
6. You say they talk at your back, do you mean behind your back?
Is the talk positive or negative?
7. Weigh these questions and you’ll find your answer.
Good Luck
