Please Tell Me Best Way Of Stress Relief At Work?

Punching Colleagues (but it really depends on how socially acceptable this is in your place of work).
Other amusing things include (but are not limited to):
- Shooting staples at a bin (bonus points if it bounces on the rim and goes in)
- Unwinding paperclips or making a paperclip chain
- Origami
- doodling

    depends on where you work!…
However things like carring a stress ball in your pocket or biting your nails (some people think its a nasty habit) um…anything that you can get your hands on to distract you really!…carry small things in your pocket…if u get stressed distract yourself with one!…
Another thing you could also do it every night when you come home…take a relaxing bath or something to prepare yourself for the following day!…
    Hope this helps!!!…
    Take care x

First determine why you are stressed. Are you just unsure of yourself? Then educate yourself the best you can so you are more confident. If the stress is coming from your co workers then why is that? Is there a real reason for your concern or are you just imagining it? I do know people who can not let themselves be happy. If that is so then you need to seek help as you will never be happy anywhere until you address your own problem.
Once you address the exact reason for your stress and if it is not caused by your personal problem, you can hopefully find way(s) to deal with or eliminate it. If you can not do this then perhaps you s/look for another place to work. Being stressed all day is not worth anything. If you need help finding a better job/nicer place to work consider using an employment agency that can help you.

find something that distracts you, like answering “yahoo” questions, or if you don’t want to run the chance of being fired! get a squeezy ball and squeeze it to release some tension.

    Hi Sanju,
Take deep breaths and exhale slowly. If that doesn’t work, bang your fists on the desk and scream your lungs out. Personally, I prefer the latter.

Depression, Tension & Increase of will-power.
Increasing the will-power : Our mind has a great effect on these glands. For example, continuous fear damages the Pituitary gland and makes one timid. Similarly, tension and worry disturb the Pineal gland and so leads to high B.P. and as Pineal gland controls other glands it also disturbs other glands and digestive system. In modern times, strees-tension or worry-fear have increased and they often disturb these endocrine glands. If these endocrine glands are not treated immediately, it might lead to malfunctioning of other glands of the body. As these glands are interrelated, whenever one gland is disturbed, the other glands also get disturbed. So, when you press on the pointsof these endocrine glands you will feel pain on points of more than one gland especially in case of chronic diseases. Therefore, it is very improtant to give Acupressure treatment on all the endocrine glands and keep them under proper control.
These glands also control the mind (the will-power). So in order to get rid of bad habits like smoking, drinking, drug addiction or even overeating, it is extremely necessary to give treatment on all endocrine glands for at least, fifteen days. Because, these people lack the necessary will-power to give up bad habits, they often break their vows to stop such bad habits and so they are considered unreliable. However, a treatment of fifteen days will give them necessary will-power to stop these bad habits after that. And they will be free from the withdrawal symptoms of stopping these bad habits.
Nervous tension : In the modern days because of fast life and loss of contentment, nervous tension keeps on building up increasingly, tending to damage our mind and health.
How to find out : Ask the patient to lie down on the back and ask some one to press on the base of the middle toe in both the legs. If there is a hurting sensation,it means nervous tension. If the hurting is unbearable, it means that the person is on the verge of collapse and needs immediate attention.
C U R E : (1) While the patient is lying on the back, bend all the toes of both legs, backward. It may hurt but give little more pressure and bend them as much as possible. Repeat this three times a day till the tension is removed.
    (2) Clasp your hands tightly interlocking the fingers. Then with left hand fingers press on the back of the right hand and then with right hand fingers, press on the back of the left hand. repeat for about 1 to 2 minutes, 3 to 4 times a day.
    (3) Insomnia : The above mentioned treatment can be taken for 5 to 12 minutes at night in bed to ensure good sleep and cure insomnia.
    (4) Take 2 glasess of gold/cilver/copper charged water reduced from 8 glasses of water daily.
    (5) Kali Phos 1 m (a Biochemic medicine) : Take 8 pills in the eveining between 8 to 9 p.m. for 10 days, then once a week. After 10 days Kali Phos 12 x 4+4 pills every day. Complete course is of 45 days.

There are many methods. Meditation, relaxation all of which you may be able to get on a self help CD. I find that when I get home I try to switch off from work by watching a DVD, playing on a game and trying to unwind. Try to distract yourself at home and get a good night’s rest, that way you’ll be a little fresher for work. Whilst at work talk to someone, a confidante maybe, but also make sure you take a break at least 30 minutes!
    Hope this helps!

Try finding another job, put all of your energy into doing this, and then when you find one, just quit the existing one.

    Smile
Look for the funny side where possible and at least have an internal chuckle if you can’t have a laugh.

To get relief from stress, is to pray for provision of strength to combat it. That is if you believe in the power of prayer. You also can close your eyes for a while to get temporary relief or get out from your place and move to another place for a short break. A smile will do with a positive attitude that reminds you can do it. When you go home, don’t bring it home. Rest and you face the following day being recharged.

Just stay calm and take a break when you can .

  • Get away from what is giving u stress. A short break of say 5-10 mins will help you feel better able to tackle ur prob, and tackle it FASTER when u return. Go for a walk or chat up with a colleague or look at pics in ur PC or cell, or browse the Net. Meditate and pray

Don’t get ulcers — Give them! Remember that you can only feel stress if you react the way others want/expect you to react to problems. Here’s what I learned. Question: What makes me feel stressed? What would happen if I did nothing? What would happen if I did this, or that? What is the worst thing that could happen regardless of my actions or inactions. What could/would I do if the worst happens? If you concentrate on solutions and realize that no matter how much work you do today, there will be more to do tomorrow and you most likely won’t be able to get everything done — then you’ve taken the first step. Now, just organize yourself and your time and learn to get help when you need it. When people try to shove their problems on you, give them solutions with alternatives and let them make the choice. You’d be amazed at how much stress goes away when you become a part of the solution instead of promoting the problem. Barring that — and there are ALWAYS circumstances where you really have little or no control and you just have to vent — I go to the washroom and flush the toilet about 10 times imagining that I’m flushing the person or problem with it. That frees up the mental block so I can go back and find a real solution. I have a little package type stuffed toy that sounds like glass breaking when you drop it or throw it. And I have a couple of others that make other sounds when you drop or throw them. (One of them, I call an argument ender because when you throw the doll, it says “F— you” and everyone is either shocked or laughs — Note: It doesn’t work in places where foul language is routinely used.) I throw them at the wall or drop them on the floor. I actually keep a small box of them and when someone in my perview is stressed, I take the box and tell them to pick a stress ender. Just return it when they’re done. You’d be surprised at how much fun you can have. I also have a little card that looks like a credit card. I use that when I’m at airports or in line at banks or stores. You put your thumb or finger on the card and it changes color according to your stress level. When you have other people do it, you’d be surprised at how quickly the stress starts to dissipate and people start talking. I don’t slam doors, ever — to dangerous — unless they’re cupboard doors! Another great stress reliever is to get that bubble wrap that comes in packages and then just pop the bubbles. It makes noise and is an amazing stress reliever. There’s a “Sammy Slammy” rubber doll that you can pound and a rubber alien type thing that you can squeeze until its eyes pop out. These are sold in office supply stores and in dollar stores and other stores. But where protocol and noise is a problem or could cause more problems — flushing the toilet is a good thing — it just wastes water — which is bad.
