She sent the request via e-mail like she didn’t want to talk to me face to face. I only work on company work all day except for lunch and bathroom breaks and I multitask most of the time. I don’t make personal phone calls or play on the internet like some of my colleagues. In fact, I only talk to my co-workers when they engage me in conversation, and then I try to cut it short so I can get back to my job. I feel I get quite a bit accomplished considering all the different job task I have to do and the complexity. But it seems like management feels like I’m not doing enough. It’s stressing me out!
My boss use to do most of these task and she tells me it should only take me so long to do this, or so long to do that, but the work load has tripled since she did it – and she knows it. She called herself showing me how the work flow should be on one of my job task and she missed something – her boss found it.
I did one of her job task while she was out on vacation and her boss said I did a good job. When she came back, she gave me the third degree because I didn’t run some reports after the job was finished that she never showed me how to do.
I can’t afford to quit this job and I don’t know what to do. Any serious insight out there?

This is common, and it often is used to quantify headcount needs. Be honest and don’t embellish. She could be gathering info and ammo to gain headcount and give you help!
She’s probably working hard because she knows you’re capable. Just go with the flow and don’t let her get to you, that’s what bosses are.
i worked at this place where i had to do a time report and account for every minute of every day and the boss complained constantly about everything even though it was obvious i was working hard ,
i mean practically running around my work area all day long pieces flying everywhere the machine turned up to 100 percent.
some places just work you to death and they don’t care about anything but getting rich off of your backbreaking labor.
i worked there 11 years and it just got worse and worse , i mean after 11 years i was an expert at my job right. they still rode my butt all the time and i worked double shifts and ran every line in the whole factory
the last year there i had to figure my timesheet down to pieces per second. the fastest machines could make 6 pieces per second and i would be in charge of both ends and everything in between of like a 100 foot long machine.
i got sick of that place and quit , i still have nightmares about it , i have a new job thats about 100 times easier and pays about the same.
