This isn’t constant, but sometimes I feel like my chest is heavier than normal and also sometimes I feel like I can’t get in a full breath. I think it might be due to stress, but I’m not sure. About two weeks ago this happened in a restaurant with a large group of my husband’s family and I ended up going into a panic attack. Should I be concerned, or should I just start working on better stress management? I’m only 21, so I feel like this isn’t normal.

No, this is not a good thing due to it sounding like cardiovascular problems. Do you have hypertension (high blood pressure)? If you do not know, get it checked and be on the look out for these additional symptoms when your chest feels heavy:
dull pain in chest radiating to your back, up your neck, and down left arm
dizziness, nausea, vomiting, increased pulse (above 100 bpm)
Stress and anxiety can mimic these symptoms, but I wouldn’t wait to see if it was anxiety if you feel any of these additional symptoms- GO TO THE ER POST HASTE. It only takes fractions of a second for heart muscle to start dying from the lack of oxygen. don’t mean to scare you, but it is a serious question.
Oh and age has NOTHING to do with it, I’ve seen 10 year olds have heart attacks.
you probably have a major health problem that is starting to show its symptoms. and this is not normal or okay.. i strongly suggest that you go to the doctor and make sure that you are okay before the symptoms get worse and something can happen! good luck!!
You are having a panic attack. Not to worry lots of people have them. However, you should see your doctor. He can put you on a mild medication such as Buspar to reduce your anxiety. It works. I have the same problems.. and I am also 21.. well I will be Friday!
This could be panic attacks, or something more serious – chest heaviness could be a heart or circulatory problem. You really should see a doctor soon (even if it is panic attacks, the doctor could help with that too).
Oh my gosh i get the same feeling all the time !
