They are all gimicks. Get your high school GED. Otherwise you will go almost nowhere in life. Just do it no matter what. See if there's a way to do it on the internet. The older you get the harder it will be to continue. You are lucky that you have parents who seem willing to let you live in their home even though you are way over 18 or 19. Take advantage of this luxury and tell them your plan to finish highschool. Hopefully they will be supportive. I am not sure why you dropped out. You've seen what being a manager at McDs does to a person so you also have seen what you can do to prevent those things from happening... 5 years in the back flipping burgers has given you plenty of opportunity to observe and see how people are treated, how you want to be treated, and how you should treat others. I would not consider going into management for the sole purpose of getting your car fixed.. instead, look at it as an education to add onto your resume along with the GED you are going to get. Once you've had experience in management, you have employable skills that will open the doors to other industries... Being able to manage others is a learned skill that can be used in all kinds of industries. Flipping burgers is not. I think you've already begun mentally preparing yourself for the stress that is to come.... you are aware that it is there, but guess what? Stress is everywhere... it just depends upon how you deal with it. I, personally, am motivated by the stress of impending deadlines.... on the other hand, the stress of flipping a burger would about kill me... that's why I leave the cooking to others! It's good to see that you want to advance yourself... McDs is just a stepping stone... just make sure and follow through with the GED... plus, if I am not mistaken, I think McDs offers tuition reimbursement as well, so once you've got the GED, you can take some college courses.... good luck!
