I work in a corporate role. I am more qualified than my boss both educationally and experience earned. I took this role by choice to reduce my previous stress levels which were attached to long hours in management roles. I notice that he has belittled the work of those working in my previous industry sector. He doesn’t ever come to chat with me at lunch, stays with the guys or talks to one other girl (in a junior position). I prepared a paper for him and he took it and updated it without my knowledge or without thanking me. When I asked if he had read it, he said ‘yeah, its very good’. The fact is, I’ve fixed many mistakes he had made over the last couple of years, and I was very sensitive about it. Is he jealous of me?

Both and it is natural of a narrow minded human being. It takes lot of courage and guts to appreciate and acknowldege the good work of subordinates. You have to bear with it. Keep the copies of the documents you are preparing with you, so that at the proper time you can show it to his boss, what you have written and it is edited by him.
You can think of changing the more suitable job where the working hours are more flexible.
See for comming up you have work hard and since you are more qualified, managarial responsibilities ar always more. You can find alternatives for this, like a caretaker in the house etc.
