Stress Relief, Which Method Is Better?
I usually kick my pets to relive everyday stress, or for fun. My cat flies farther, but my dogs cries more. Which would make you feel better?

1. Min stress, Flexiable work schedule, Moderate workload.
2. Work under loose management, clerical job, less overtime
needed. Time and half pay for OT hours.
3. Low benefits (Only Medical insurance 50% paid) , 10 paid
vacation days, 3 paid holidays.
4. $35,000 annual
5. 15 min drive to work
6. No career advancement opportunity,
7. Weak boss and weak management.
8. Some coworkers with bad attitude.
It’s more to help my body deal with stress and for pain management since my doctor can’t find any serious illness but I have some kind of peripheral neuropathy where he doesn’t think any medication will really make a difference and that it is job related – but I can’t quit the job – and there’s nothing for me to switch to right now.
I am 53 and need to make a career change as soon as possible. There is too much stress in my current management position. I am will to take a pay cut and do not want to be responsibile for anyone. I just want to do a great job and be recognized for it. Just don’t know what type of job. Have taken tests which point to going back to school and don’t want to do that. Need head hunter who has patience to work with someone who has no idea and wants something completely different. Any suggestions? Currently live in LA, but willing to move almost anywhere in Southern CA.
There is a lot of stress at my job. Management pushes more and more. In the past five years at least eighteen have quit that I can outright remember.
I have saved part of each paycheck for the future. It is getting to the point where I want to quit. If I cut back on some things that are not a necessity I could make it for the next six months.
With the way the job market is these days I might or might not find another job in that time.
Should I take that risk, save my mental health, and quit or should I continue to go to work each day and look for work on the side?
I am going to be doing a presentation on stress relief and I’d like some different ideas on how to avoid or relieve it.
Some background information.
My sister is suffering depression which she REFUSES to seek help for in any way, is VERY stressed, & has anger management issues.
She is 36 and has 2 children aged 4 & 2.5.
She is single.
She NEVER takes the kid’s out. Instead prefering to sit at home on the internet buying on e-bay.
The TV is the babysitter.
The kid’s are so bored. They love it when my sister and I would take them to the beach etc. They were well behaved as they had something to do. When their bored they of course play up. This angers my sister.
She looses her temper VERY easily with the kid’s, especially the 4 year old over stupid little things such as playing with a pencil while eating. Dropping food on the floor while eating. Being too loud. pulling leaves off a tree etc.
When she looses her temper, she screams LOUDLY so neighbours can hear. She also threatens them with “Leave that alone or I’ll chop your hand off!” etc to touching things. Or “The spiders will bit you and you’ll die if you go in there.”
She also hit’s. But NOT SMACKING. Actual hitting.
Just the other day she rung me at night & asked me to come over? Why? Because she had blackened the 4 year old’s eye & she had a fat nose!!! What happened? She had broken her glasses again. So my sister sent her to her room. But she was so angry she went into the room & threw the glasses at the wall very close to her head. She stated she wanted to scare the sh*t out of her, but the glasses hit her in the nose instead.
She had kinder the next morning & she was in a panic.
when she brought her daughter around, it looked as if her nose was broken & she had a massive black eye.
But really worried me was that she then said to her daughter “Now tell Aunty W what we practiced (for kinder).”"Eliza threw a toy at me!” She was coaching her 4 year old to lie to cover her butt plus then placing the blame on her 2.5 year old!!
Would you ring DHS?
I am getting very worried.
I’ve been to anger management classes and tried stress reducing but not one goddaMn@@ thing works!
I always feel so fu@@ing angry all the time ……..full of rage and I don’t know why…..Nor does my doctor or counselors!!!!!
!@#$ $%^ &*…………… It’s been this way since I was 13 and now I’m 33!!!! 20 years of total blood pressure vein popping ANGER………….I guess the only thing that is gonna stop my rage is a fatal heart attack
I work in a primary school, which is dedicated to being the ‘best’! Which it is. However, when new intitiative or ideas are introduced by staff or management, other people panic and discuss it constantly.
Me however, I tend to just ‘get on with it’, and not see it as a big deal, and still get it done or taught.
Is it natural to be so laid back about things, such as important? I feel I am a good teacher and enjoy it loads!
I am someone who just does not make a big deal – even at home!
