What Is Your Favorite Activity For Stress Relief?

He is terrible at dealing with stress.
And out of all the jobs he could have chosen, he chose one where he will be running around, dealing with death and the deceased’s family, sick people, diagnoses, all that.
I know that he can’t handle that.
I tried to explain to him how high stress that will be for him, and he gets defensive like “so what do you mean?”.
If it comes down to it, I’ll tell him straight out what I think….
But how should I deal with it?
I don’t want it to ruin him and ruin our relationship, when he comes home stressed as hell every single day.
Is there any way that he can do what he wants to do and we can fix this stress thing?
Stress management classes? Is there anything like that?

I seem to be very bad at managing stress in my life both in the workplace and with people and situations that get on my nerves. I have a heavy profession and have sometimes left jobs due to burn-out or at times take things too sensitively. Now I’m finally (in my mid 40s ) doing something about it by starting stress management classes. These are one to one and will hopefully turn my bad habit around. Sometimes, some friends get on my nerves, one in particular when she criticises things I do in my life. I don’t want to fall out with her but I really thing that she does not have the right to criticise my lifestyle. I live a good decent life, am not a criminal, earn my own living and have no addictions. She gets specifically annoyed that I travel a lot (I like it and work hard to afford it) and I often date guys who are lots younger (I look 10-15 yrs younger). How do I deal with this criticism from some people and in the workplace?
I have a BA in Sociology and College Diploma in Tourism Management. I hate my current job dealing with grieving people. Very depressing and stressful. Any suggestions?

A company had a meeting on stress management. The leader picked up a glass of water and asked the group how much they thought the glass of water weighed. He received a variation of answers. The leader then went on to say, “It really doesn’t matter how much it weighs. This is the same with stress. If you hold the glass for a minute, it’s lightweight. If you hold it for an hour, your arm starts to hurt. If you hold it for a day, you become weary, etc.etc.etc. The same is true with stress. When you leave work, you must leave your burden of work stress at work. (put it on the table) You can PICK it up tomorrow!”
I just moved here from Florida where I had a great pain doctor. I am on low doses of Methadone and Vicodin for breakthough pain.I don’t want to get more or higher doses. I just want to continue on the same things that’s all. I have a lot of pain due to my health conditions. I am just scared of what to expect in Indiana when it comes to doctors and this type of thing. I am scared because I can’t afford to go through withdrawls because I can’t be under stress at all. Thanks.
